Stump Grinding and Removal

When a tree is cut down, the “root ball” and a few inches of the trunk stay in the dirt. While tree removal takes the trunk down to the ground, stump grinding goes deeper. We use a rotating blade to chew the remaining wood into fine mulch. You can choose to have the mulch removed or keep it for your garden beds.
  • Pest Control: Decaying stumps are magnets for termites, carpenter ants, and beetles that can eventually migrate to your home.
  • Safety: Stumps are hidden trip hazards for children and guests, and a major headache for lawnmower blades.
  • Reclaiming Space: Many California species will attempt to "sucker" or regrow from the stump. Once the stump is ground out, you can use that part of your yard again for a garden, a shed, or just a flat lawn.
